Manifesting things into your life

I know not everyone believes in manifesting what you want, but the past few weeks have been so amazing I just have to share.

Firstly, here are some of the things I wanted:
-       5 more speaking gigs
-       Someone to motivate/help me lose weight and tone up with knowledge like a personal trainer.
-       A feng shui consultant in Canberra
-       An excuse to dress up as a comic book character

Well, I am now doing 2 workshops at a womens in business retreat next year. I have 3 other gigs in Sydney and they were all booked this past week.

Just today I had a guy I am doing some work with the homeless email me. We’ve been talking a bit and I had mentioned on Thursday at our meeting that I had to buy the next size up in jeans coz I put weight back on which is not cool. He very delicately offered in his email his knowledge/help. He studied sports science at uni and worked in gyms, conducting fitness assessments, writing programs for people, taking circuit classes, stuff like that. I also did a lot of fitness and weight training myself. He was worried about offending me, but as I read it all I thought was JACKPOT! Heck yes I want your help.

This week a friend posted on her Facebook page asking for recommendations for a feng shui consultant in Canberra. I have been researching and asking and trying to find someone I ‘connect’ with. It might sound silly, but I go off gut feelings for things like this as to whose services I use and someone suggested someone on her page. As soon as I saw the consultant I knew it. I want her.

Then yesterday I got a call from a friend inviting me to a superhero/villain party and she is making my costume! She already had it picked for me. I am so excited.

I know a lot of this might seem like simple things and while I didn’t spend a lot of time focusing on what I want (and there are a lot of other things which I have not put in here that have happened), everything seems to be coming together.

I have been focusing on what I want in my life, clearing out what I don’t want and meditating a lot. The turn around in my life has been amazing.  I believe in thought plus action. Without action I don’t believe you can expect anything to happen.

Do you try and manifest things into your life?

Motivate yourself to make money

Motivation can be lacking at times. If things are going well financially it can be easy to let the budget slip and not worry about increasing your income. When things are going bad it can be hard because you are so stressed about needing to make more money to pay for everything it can be hard to even know where to start.

So how can you motivate yourself to make more money?

Think about how it feels
When you are on top of your finances, savings are growing and your bills are paid it feels pretty good, right? When you have a pile of stuff to sell but really can't be bothered, try to focus on how good it feels when the money hits your account and the stuff is out of your house instead of focusing on what you need to do to sell it all.

Have a goal
Why are you trying to make more money? Is it for a particular bill? A family holiday? A day at a spa for yourself? A $1000 emergency fund? When you have a goal to work towards it can be easier than just trying to make more money.

What's your target?
With that goal set yourself a target for an amount of money you want to make. For example if you are just starting to kick off selling things, why not aim to make $200 or $500 this week. If you've been doing it for a while increase your amount. If the bill is $500, that can be your first target.

Get visual
An image of your goal is a great way to motivate yourself to get started and stay on track. Put a picture of your goal in places you see a lot like the fridge, your bathroom mirror, your wallet and so on. You could even do up a graph or chart to mark off smaller amounts as you work to reach your goal.

Set time
Dedicate time to making money. Be specific and set work hours during which time you will be doing whatever it is you plan to do to make money. Say you plan on doing ironing every night. Dedicate the hours each night or the nights you want to work and commit. Don't do other things over those same hours.

Let someone know
Letting someone know about your goal to make money and your plan on how you will do it can help keep you motivated. They can keep you accountable and encourage you when you feel you can't do it.

What do you do to stay motivated to make money?

Is it worth it selling at markets?

On the weekend Jac Lambert and I sold a bunch of our clothes at Fash'N'Treasure here in Canberra. We got most of our stuff together, booked the stall, priced and labelled everything then spent the day hanging around selling our clothes, shoes and accessories.

My super cool sister and me the dork

It was interesting. We learned a few things and will do it again. Honestly we didn't sell as much as hoped but when we added it up we had sold more than we expected.

We had a box of free stuff which had good results. The most hilarious was a little girl, maybe 4 or 5 who obviously knows how to read the word FREE and her eyes just about popped out of her head. She was so excited and found a little bag she really liked. She was a funny kid full of expression and very talkative.

We scoped the place out and decided on the stall locations we would prefer for next time. I am glad I picked where we were and it was easy to see the stall spots that don't get much action.

To be honest I spent at the markets as well. I have been looking for particular jewellery which I found at the markets for half the price of elsewhere and the lady was so lovely. She sells as Hall Markets here in Canberra and even gave me a few free pairs of earrings. My sister bought some stuff from her too.

So was it worth it?

Yes and no. Yes, we sold stuff, but we were there for hours, there was a lot of preparation (clearing out the wardrobes, minor repairs etc). It was the slowest market day they have had ever, so that didn't help. We will probably do it one more time but it's not something I would do regularly.
