$10,000 Challenge wrap up

So my $10,000 Challenge is over. Did I manage to do it? Yes, I did.

I managed to make and save $10,000 in the last 6 weeks. I needed $10,000 to complete some renovations, some of which I was quoted quite heavily for. Well, I managed to do it the following ways...

1.)    Found a quote for $4,000 less than the others for the driveway
2.)    Menu planned and used what we had
3.)    Shopped with a list and did not deviate from it
4.)    My husband’s work
5.)    De-cluttered and sold things
6.)    Looked for all our ‘little bits and pieces’ such as money sitting in paypal, small bank accounts and coins around our house/car/everywhere
7.)    Saving money on other things on our list reducing the amount we needed to find
8.)    A few little projects I had been working on I got part payment for.

So basically it was a pretty even combination between savings money and finding ways to make extra money and consolidate everything.

We have a few more things we will be doing this next week which should result in a few thousand dollars, but we are really happy with what we achieved in the 6 week period.

We didn’t get to have the garage sale I wanted to do, but I did get to sell some things online instead and my garage is definitely looking better.

We have also managed to book and complete nearly everything on the list we wanted to get done. There are only a few things left to do that we were using the $10,000 and the house is looking and feeling so much better.

Hopefully we will be able to sell it for the price range we are thinking and move!
