Oh, how I wish this post was about me discovering a tree that grows money, but it's not.
The other day I was walking my daughters back from the park and I noticed one of our neighbours had cut a tree down in their front yard. All the wood was all over the place. Immediately I thought of how you could turn that into money.
1.) Sell it was firewood. If you live in an area where people have fireplaces, you could offer to sell it to them.
2.) Turn it into woodchips for gardens to sell.
3.) Create unique wooden items, chopping boards, pen holders, coffee or side tables etc... You could approach a souvenir shop to see if they would be interested in buying them off you or selling them on consignment or you could go to a market.
These were the 3 ideas that immediately popped into my head. I am sure there are other things you could do with it. I am surprised by how many people just get rid of it without a second thought. I do realise that in a lot of areas you need to get someone who is qualified to come out and cut the tree down, so cutting down a tree in your yard is not a way to make money, but these ideas can help you recoup some of the cost, making it less expensive.
This also made me think about how many little things like that do we do that we could create money from without too much effort. If you have a pine tree in your yard you want to cut down, could you wait til closer to Christmas and sell it as a Christmas tree.
Do you have some beautiful flowers you could cut and sell? In one of the salons I used to work an elderly lady came around every week selling bunches of flowers from her garden for $10each.
What is at your house that you could make money from? Once you start looking and thinking you will probably be surprised at what you have and can do.
